Dave Metcalfe was 52 years old when he passed away on January 27th 2002, 2 days before his birthday. He was a long distance lorry driver and worked for Intermol which were based in Liverpool. My dad had 3 brothers him being the second youngest he was married and had 2 children myself and my older brother , he was tragically killed on the east lancs road due to a gang of lads from kirkby who stole 2 cars and where racing them they ran a red light and crashed into my dad all 5 of them walked away with minor cuts but my dad lost his life he was an amazing man such a gentleman with a brilliant sense of humour and made everyone smile when he was around he would do anything for anyone, family was the most important thing in my dads life, not a day goes by when he isn't in our thoughts we miss him so much!! x
